The collection consists of forty-four volumes of diaries, circa 1880-56, which provide brief summaries of Norris's daily activities in her youth in Little Compton, R.I., as an undergraduate at Smith College, 1890s, and as a public high school teacher in Andover, then Holyoke, Massachusetts.
